My Shopping Spree
Recently Acquired:
Canon PowerShot SD790IS
- 10 Megapixels
- 3X Optical Zoom
- Image Stablization
So, I know that the rest of the world has suddenly come to understand the meaning of a balanced budget, thereby tightening belts and causing the global recession to deepen. But I, on the other hand, have been on a massive shopping spree since we found out that consumer confidence was at an all time low.
This was only partly my fault, as my last major shopping spree was about 3 or 4 years ago. So inconveniently enough, everything seemed to break at about the same time. First, my beloved old camera sputtered, and then died, so a new one had to be acquired. After my great experiences with the old Canon Digital Elph, I thought I’d get another one. This time, it was the Canon SD790 IS, which I purchased because of reasonable reviews on CNET coupled with the fact that it was on sale. Combine that with the bad experience with the new Olympus, and I was sold.
Little did I know that this camera would be so great. It’s easy to use, takes amazing pictures, and fits into your pocket, all at a sub-$200 price. I mean, just look at these photos! I took the second one whilst on the plane over what I think was Siberia. It’s absolutely incredible.
Now, my MP3 player is dying and I desperately need to maintain my musical connection. Is the iPod touch my next acquisition?

I acquired an iPod Touch a year ago as a Christmas bonus. It was something I wanted, but could not justify spending money on. Now that I have it, though, it has been wonderful. When pressed it can replace a notebook computer. It is a really fun gadget.
And now that you have a camera, can we expect new pictures to be posted?

Haha, yes! I have many pictures, most of them are on my Picasa, I think. I’ve been really lazy about the gallery on this website. I thought I might as well like google take over the world.
Anyway, more links in the blogs, right?
By the way, Hank… Are you renting out your place in DC for big bucks during the inauguration? Seems like everybody’s doing it!
