Back to Tooling

My parents are so cute. I told them that I’d bought the class ring, and they asked for one! :) So, next week, I have 3 exams: 7.05, 7.02, and 15.401. Isn’t that lovely. At least it’s not this week. I’ll start memorizing amino acids now.

Yay! Shopping Binge

So I finally plopped down a couple hundred dollars for that Ring. I was, however, relieved to see my UROP funding approved… now I’ll probably recoup my losses within a couple of weeks. Apparently, my entire life revolves around having enough money to buy food. That’s the sad life of a college student.

A-ha! More Money!

The state of Massachusetts took my money, but they gave it back! I’m so happy. I love tax refunds! Now maybe I can go buy that hideous class ring.

Finally Finished

The Cell Bio exam was pretty painful. I hope this class enjoys the pain it inflicts upon its students… Meanwhile, I need to design a T-shirt for German House. While I’m at it, I should redesign the webpage for German House. Yes Josh, we do have broken links and pictures. :(

Amy’s Head Explodes

I’ve been studying for Cell Bio for way too long. But, I forgot to show everyone our ring design. Actually, it looks pretty much like every other MIT class ring, but here you go anyway. Click away! Yeah, that phi and theta was ugly, wasn’t it? And their webpage is in some sad condition right now, but hey… the beaver is really FAT! :)

Ring Premier

So, less than an hour from now is the MIT 2006 Ring Premier. Apparently, it’s a big deal because something like 95% of Undergraduates buy the class ring. I’m sure that I won’t be one of 4 to win a free ring, but maybe I’ll get a T-shirt or something. I’ll be back to let you know how it goes.

Sell-out!

Here I am, in the lobby of New House, trying to sell people things again. This is really all I seem capable of doing these days. First, it was the carnations, now, it’s Six Flags tickets. To be completely honest, roller coasters are all about the same to me, but going with a group of friends is always exciting. I just hope the people in my house feel the same way.

Aren’t debates great?

I can’t help it. I simply must share my amusement with the world. Isn’t Al Sharpton the most entertaining “politician” ever? This from the New York Times article:

Mr. Sharpton drew howls of laugher from the audience when a questioner asked him if Mr. Bush were deliberately lying [about WMD in Iraq].

“I think that if he did know he was lying and was lying, that’s even worse,” Mr. Sharpton said. “Clearly, he lied. Now if he is an unconscious liar, and doesn’t realize when he’s lying, then we’re really in trouble.

“You know, I’m a minister,” he continued. “Why do people lie? Because they’re liars.”

This stuff is great. Certainly isn’t politics as usual.
